Keyboard Shortcuts



The Desktop Application offers many ways of controlling the application from the keyboard. This section references the keyboard shortcuts for mashing. capture, playback, and communications.

Player Controls

From Conversation, Studio, Preview or Capture

  • Space => Play/Pause
  • Enter => Stop

Core Editing

From Conversation or Studio

  • Ctrl + X => Cut Asset From Stage **
  • Ctrl + C => Copy Asset From Stage **
  • Ctrl + V => Paste Asset To Stage **
  • Ctrl + Z => Undo

Gallery

  • Ctrl+G => Open Gallery
  • (Unmodified) Left/Right Arrows => Move Seek Knob Forward/Backward One Frame (Mimics single arrow button functions on Player Control)
  • (Unmodified) Up/Down Arrows => Move Seek Knob to the Next/Previous Keyframe (Mimics double arrow button functions on Player Control)
  • (Unmodified) Hold Down Left/Right Arrows, => Scrub Seek Knob Forward/Backward
  1. Arrow Keys are used to shift focus between thumbs in the gallery. If focus is on a thumb at the top of the gallery, Up Arrow has no further effect. If focus on a thumb on the right edge of the gallery, right arrow has no further effect, etc.
  2. When a thumb has focus, and the user hits Ctrl+O, the corresponding file should open in Preview.

Transmit

  1. Focus should proceed from top left to bottom right of the Transmit tab via <Tab>.
  2. <Shift+Tab> should perform the same function in reverse.

Studio Object Manipulation

  • (When an asset is selected on the stage) Ctrl + Arrows => Nudge Selected Asset In the Direction of Arrow
  • Shift + Drag => When dragging a bounding box corner (transform handle), Ctrl+Shift forces an object to retain its aspect ratio during the resize transformation.
  • Ctrl + Drag => Pop-o-matic. Moves CurrentTime? forward two frames and creates a new keyframe upon MouseUp?.
  • Alt + Drag => If an object is ctrl + dragged after the seek bar has been moved, the object will tween to the newly created keyframe upon MouseUp?.

Moving Around the Application

From anywhere in the Main Application

Tab

  • Tab to move focus to the next location in the Tab Order
  • Shift + Tab to move focus backwards to the previous location in the Tab Order
  • When moving to a section containing multiple fields or elements, focus falls to top left field or element in that section.

      • Within the Browser, Tab should move focus from the top left to the bottom right, as in any other browser.

  • In GRID Separation Builds, the Tab Order should be as follows:
    • Media Manager - Find Field
    • Media Manager - Asset List
    • Studio
    • Browser
      • Within the Browser, Tab should move focus from the top left to the bottom right, as in any other browser. Once focus reaches bottom right, focus moves to the next module, in this case, the Find Field. Conversely, when focus is at the upper left of the browser and the user presses Shift-Tab, focus should pass to Studio.
